Well it has been the most amazing journey with Jessie Lauren and I could not be more thankful for the opportunity I have had and for the support that customers and friends have shown. Jessie Lauren has been one of the most challenging yet rewarding experience of my life and its so sad to say goodbye!

I have decided to pursue study in interior design so that mum and I can eventually work together and have our own interior studio, oh and I do plan to go on a nice long holiday! Amongst all this I have taken on a fantastic new role at the most beautiful bohemian luxe store called St Barts. They have just opened their second store in James Street, Fortitude Valley and I have loved working in retail again and finally meeting all my lovely JL customers in person.

The party is an annual event featuring the latest up and coming designers and our new face models working their way into the fashion industry. It is an event that Vivien’s love to support as it is a showcase of what Brisbane really has to offer. Well I've returned home from an exciting buying trip where I sourced so many beautiful things for the store. As we approach Spring I'm inspired by softer tones of coral, lemon, aqua, pink and green. I have sourced some beautiful ginger jars and vases that are perfect filled with fresh flowers from the garden. As new stock arrives in the coming weeks expect to see Indian inspired placemats, napkins & tablecloths in batik floral prints, scented candles, wine glasses in pink with gold rim detail and hand-painted crockery and so much more! Happy Monday to you all and what a fabulous weekend that just passed! Our debut at the Boutique Markets was such an amazing success, thank you to everyone that came along to say hello, the whole day was just so much fun and it was nice to hear such lovely comments about our products. If you missed out on Sunday, I will be doing a stall at the Bulimba Festival which promises to be another great event!

On other news our website is expanding and over the next week a new link will be added called 'Designer Interiors'. This link will showcase pages of beautiful fabrics, furniture, wallpapers, mirrors and rugs that are more up-market unique pieces. For easy selection each category will be colour coded and all pieces will be price on application. There will also be a furniture page with over 20 designs of natural rattan furniture as well as more luxurious pieces. To help assist with these pages we will be offering interior decorating services, private home boutique showings and so much more!

Oh how I would love to go for a swim in the ocean right now, pity its so freezing! Lots of fun projects to work on today, have been back and forth with my photographer Libby about our shoot this weekend for the exclusive Jessie Lauren Collection! There are so many things to think about and organise for a shoot for the lighting right down to the hair and make-up; everything is so important in making a shoot a success. My shoot is scheduled for this Saturday and then I have the Boutique Markets on Sunday! Will certainly be run off my feet but lots of fun though and I have a great support network so I can't complain!

I loved discovering Amy Butler's inspirational website, in particular the turquoise screen. It got me thinking about painting our indian screens in vibrant colours, its the perfect piece to add a statement to your room, to fill that empty corner or to use in your bedroom as a bedhead or stand alone piece, I think they are so chic. Our Custom Interiors link will provide wallpapers, fabrics, curtains, rugs, furniture and one-off finds. We will also have a service available for all your re-upholstering and custom-made orders. We can re-upholster your sofa and custom make a chair, we can even help you create an embroided logo for your cushions! I love the shape and detail of this beauty, there are only two available!

Back Home from HK

We are back from Hong Kong and I have some fabulous new goodies and plenty of stories to share! Its nice to be back and catch up on all my favourite blogs, it feels like forever since I last said hello.

Well where to begin!? The trip was very successful considering we came home with oversized luggage and managed to ship home lots of boxes...budget...what budget?

On the last day we were ready to go home, our feet were aching and our heads pounding, it had been a whirlwind trip of thinking, shopping, bargaining and a whole lot of fun! On the last day I got to spend the day with my best friend who lives on the Island side and we had an absolute ball, she took me to all the expat hot spots and enjoyed high tea at the Peninsula!

On the Jessie Lauren side of things we have lots and lots of new products that will be added to the website during this week. You can already look at a few diamond clutches (absolutely to die for), designer cushions at affordable prices and a gorgeous range of cherand that just arrived, so make sure you stop by for a visit!

Well the time has come and as I sit in the Qantas lounge the rush of excitement is here! Once you leave the house you can't go back so whatever I've forgotten I will just have to buy! Michelle, Mum and I are all off to Hong Kong and I think we are all looking forward to a girly trip and time to get creative and meet suppliers so I can bring back some fabulous goodies for you! I have so much stock ready to be photographed and put up on the web so when I get back I am tackling it all! While we are here I am creating a gorgeous collection of one size fits all, affordable dresses that can be worn as a summer dress or layered for winter. I have some great designs up my sleeve and can't wait to share it all with you! We are away for the week so I will see you soon! Hope you all have a fabulous weekend xx

Its not every day you get to go behind the scenes of a film clip and if you can believe it I will watch Brian McFadden do his thing this weekend and find out what really goes on in the entertainment industry! One of our gorgeous models Avril will be in the film clip too so I am super excited to see how she goes. On other news this weekend will consist of packing bags and boxes! It could not be more hectic timing to be moving house and going on a trip to Hong Kong in the space of two weeks! Can't complain though as its all very exciting, I hope you all have a gorgeous weekend and I promise to take some sneaky shots while on set with Brian - oh la la!!

Love of my life!

Hermes would have to be one of my favourite designer labels for its classic and timeless elegance. There are definitely a few items on my dream wish list, one would have to be the tan wrap band watch and the signature scarves and of course the Birkin! Ok so the third is a little out of reach however I do just love these pieces and have for years; they will never go out of style. I also love this post because I am obsessed with caramel, whether its a Starbucks or a trench coat, I can't get enough of caramel and love it mixed back with black decor for a bit of contrast and regal elegance. As much as I love colour I always come back to a neutral colour palette...I think I've talked myself into a Caramel Mocchiato, off I go to Starbucks!

I'm a huge fan of books and at Jessie lauren we will soon have a selection of books we love available to you soon. I cant wait to move into our home so we can start co-ordinating all our books by colours.

We are busy planning our pop up shop but first we have a trip overseas to bring home lots of goodies in fashion and homewares, our furniture is busy in production but we will have the samples on view in the next few weeks. Just imagine our Chinoisiere Chair in coral, I think its my new colour obsession!

A pretty table setting is always complete with fresh flowers and lots of books.

Another new arrival at Jessie Lauren, this stunning ceramic stool in the most beautfiul combination of blues, greens and yellows.

Mum and I last year visited the store of Lilly Pulitzer in Santa Monica, it was on her list of must do's, it was a definite explosion of colourful fashion and homewares, to be honest it was all abit much for me, but with Mums enthusiusm and me trying to drag her out of the shop, I'm thinking perhaps she was on to something as I'm now discovering it all over blogland!

Mum bought this book home and I must say we will be adding it to our list of favourite books!

I have always loved Moroccan and Indian inspired homewares and I think it may just have to be my next travel destination!

Its the start of the week, deliveries have been sent and we eagerly are placing orders to fill our emptying shelves, with winter being such a short season our focus is on our summer collection, over the weeks we have been purchasing stunning fashion and working on some of our own designs too, we leave overseas in two weeks to source more unique products so while our shop is small now, over the coming months our stock will expand to have exciting new pieces.
